Historic

Descending from an old family of wine growers living in Courgis, farmers for generations since 1788 - doing mixed farming including cereal farming and, some years ago, cattle and ovine race breeding - the two brothers, Claude and Jean-Louis, decided to revive the ancestral activity in 1986.

Claude, who had a passion for wine, was in charge of the wine whereas Jean-Louis dealt especially with the cereal farming.

Claude first planted in the districts of Beines and then in the districts of Courgis and Chablis.

Since January 2018, their children, Céline and Tommy, took the management creating distinctly two societies.

The vineyard

It is the Chablis appellation that we mainly produce since it alone covers almost 9 Ha out of our total area of 15.80 Ha.
The different designations are delimited by the geological zones of secondary Jurassic, Kimmeridgian stage, giving a stony clay-limestone subsoil.
It is a land of choice for Chardonnay, the only grape variety authorized to produce Chablis wines. Chardonnay, the grape variety of the great Burgundy wines, and the clay-limestone subsoil give our wines finesse, fruitiness and minerality.

  • Petit Chablis: 6.60 hectares

  • Chablis: 8.85 hectares

  • Chablis 1er Cru: 0.30 hectares

The management of our vineyard is carried out in
“Reasoned Control” since 1992 and we have been HVE (High Environmental Value, Level 3) certified since 01/2020.

Winemaking is carried out in the winery located in Montallery, a small typical village leaning against the hills, located between the villages of Beines and Courgis.
Chablis and Petit Chablis are vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats.
The Chablis 1er Crus as well as the Chablis “Cuvée Prestige” are vinified and aged in oak barrels in our cellars.
Vinification for 10 to 11 months produces a dry white wine distinguished by its pale yellow color with beautiful green nuances.
